It is important to know before buying a puppy

Have you decided to take a puppy? Good! That means you’ve made a choice that’s going to change your life! It is extremely important to understand that puppy is not a toy and that a dog is a not problem-free companion, which is going to become your perfect friend as soon as it crosses the threshold of your house.
Before going to a kennel for a dog, sit and think about all the details. Are you ready that your new four-pawed friend can chew a beloved sofa, make a puddle in the midst of the room, or to wake you up with its barking in the middle of the night? Are you ready to walk with it in any weather (in rain and snow), give only healthy food, and spend your money regularly for visits to a vet? Leave your emotions aside and try to give frank answers to these questions. If you’re hesitating – don’t take a dog.
Do not take a puppy if:
- you don’t have time for it
- you or your households have an allergy (but you can find that out without any boring tests – just come to our kennel, where you can enjoy a company of fluffy noses of our adult vaccinated dogs (even for an entire day) and not only to understand whether you’re allergic but also to find out if you’re in love with those pawed friends or not)
- you aren’t planning to train it regularly and thoroughly
- you aren’t ready to invest money every month to maintain it (nutrition, training, health maintenance)
- your decision was impulsive and spontaneous.
Do not take a puppy to return it – that is not as simple as it might seem to you.
If someone brings a dog back to a breeder in the first weeks after the purchase, this causes large misunderstanding and problems – for a dog, too.
It’s important to understand that a breeder won’t take your dog back and will not return your money. A dog was already outside the kennel, and thus, it becomes dangerous for non-vaccinated puppies. There is no fault of a breeder that you’re refusing a healthy puppy, and thus, there is no reason to return you the money.
A very widespread situation: you’re buying a puppy for a child. Well, without arguing, we agree that a dog is a wonderful friend, loyal and faithful, who is capable of sincere and deep love to its human. But a child won’t be able to care for the puppy as needed simply because a child can’t take care of and bring up another child – adults are required for that. Will you have time and effort for two different children, who are completely dependent on you?
A pet is not merchandise on the shelf in a store, it can’t be returned within 2 weeks from purchase. Surely, a breeder can help you resell a puppy to someone else but this is a long and complex process, during which the pet will still be living with you, in your house.
