If you want to fill your life with positive – get a Rhodesian Ridgeback.
There are breeds of dogs that start to perform a specific task. Ridgeback is unique in that it does not perform a task – it carries a mission. When this dog appears in your house, you are doomed to positive emotions and love more. Richard is the second dog of this breed in our family. Our previous 10-year-old Ridgeback, according to our daughter, “flew off to the star” and without hesitation we decided to make up for this loss with a new dog of the same breed. And it’s not just the attachment to the previous dog.
It is very important for us that the dog has a persistent psyche, since in our house, in addition to our own daughter, there are often other children and our little grandchildren. Ridgebacks are surprising in that they not only adore children, they accept a child at any age. When our Katyusha was born, the previous Ridgeback was 2 years old, and he became a nanny, friend and protector for his daughter. Today Katyusha is 8 years old and they, with 7-month-old Richard “do not spill water”, shoot videos together, draw, do homework, rush around the house and in the garden, sleep in Katyusha’s room, and it was Richard who chose the place to sleep.
We can talk about the many beautiful features of this breed, but we needed this dog for the soul, or rather, for the souls of all members of our large family, so Richard became a full member of our family.
We express our deep gratitude to Victoria Stepanok, a breeder of dogs of this breed, for the love with which she cares for the physical and mental health of dogs. Kiswahili Ridgeback is the only dog kennel of this breed in Ukraine that has won our trust. Even a few months after we bought a puppy at Kiswahili Ridgeback, Victoria is regularly interested in his success and well-being, giving us professional advice on grooming and upbringing. It seems that the dogs made us friends and united in a large family.
